I've been depressed lately but too ashamed and embarrassed to tell anyone. I feel like I could use some help. I prayed to God. I know he heard me. I know Jesus understands my pain. Please God take this pain from me.

Tonight I reached an extremely high level of thinking. I was thinking about what knowledge I have obtained in the last couple years of college as well as from simply experiencing life. At the same time I was intensely playing the video game madden and really getting into the passing plays. I could feel different areas of my brain working at the same time since I was also deep in thought. With the high level of thinking came a feeling of motivation and optimism toward the future. I know my brain can take me to new heights. After I graduate, my future is whatever I make of it.

Reminiscing Summer

Ah summer. I miss you. Best events of summer (in no particular order):

1. My brother's wedding and reception - hooked up with a fine italian woman and hung out with her throughout the summer.

2. The journey to Traverse City with my brother Brian - greatest adventure to Traverse City in my life.

3. Bike riding at the Metro Park - a true journey with Brian and my friend Travis.

This is how I feel now: not good. Summer was fun and now I am back at school taking 21 credits. It is not fun being extremely busy with school and constantly working on homework and various shit. F school.

A strange feeling. Ready to go back home to Michigan. My life is good but isn't turning out how I thought it would. Sometimes I'm feeling great without a worry or care in the world. Then, in only a moment's time, that feeling can vanish. Why does life have to be so confusing? Things are never as they seem to me recently. I may think one thing and I am completely wrong. I hope for some things, but they never seem to come. School is forcing unwanted burdens. I miss the freedom of the summers of youth. This summer I will be continuing taking a class and working. Still better than sitting in a classroom all week taking too many classes though. I wonder if my life will ever turn out how I had hoped... gotta put my faith in God and trust that He knows what is best for me.

Drain, Make it Rain

Tonight I played the most ridiculous game of basketball in my life. We had a college club game. Our team had only 5 players. The other team had about 10. I scored 32 out of our team's 43. I was makin' it rain from all over the court, mainly from my favorite spot: the three spot. My first basket of the game was the most incredible shot I have ever made in a game in my entire life. My friend B-White made a jumping save to stop the ball from going out of bounds along the base line. The ball bounced once heading out of bounds along the side of the court. I ran, jumped, grabbed the ball in the air, and launched it toward the basket while landing out of bounds. It went in! Hahaha. The classic specialty shot I learned from playing the driveway legend game of One Bounce. A player from the other team said that it would be a number 1 play on SportsCenter Top 10. Where is a video camera when you need it?

It has been almost 3 years since my last post. When you concentrate on days, time moves slowly. When you look at it by the years, time moves quickly. I thought it would be good for me to type some of my thoughts. Not because I care if anyone else reads this, but because I want to get these thoughts out of my head. I am sick of school and the stress it brings. I am laid back and calm for the most part. I try not to worry about anything. School makes me worry and stress out. Hey, here is another test for you to take to prove you learned something. Hey, write this paper about some random topic. It will help you learn. I want to learn from experience. School throws facts and information others have obtained into a book for me to buy at an outrageous price. Then I get to go to class and stick my head in the book and cram to pass a test. I'm not trying to say school is unimportant, but the more I think of the concept, the more it bothers me. How can I learn to be good at something if all I do is sit in a classroom and read a book?

I'm watching the movie Walking Tall starring the Rock right now. I just saw the scene where he walks into a casino with a 2x4 and starts beating people down. He takes down over 5 grown men with weapons. The Rock is a beast.

playoffs

The NBA playoffs will be starting pretty soon. The Pistons are the number one team in the Eastern Conference and will have home court advantage all through the Eastern Conference playoffs. The top three teams in the Western Conference are Dallas, Phoenix, and San Antonio. If the Pistons make it to the NBA Finals they will most likely be playing one of these three teams. The playoffs are very exciting and I cannot wait until they start.

last week of school

This is the start of my last week of my first year of college. Luckily all my final exams will be finished before finals week. Now I am going to finish school a week earlier than most students. I'm very excited to be finishing my first year. Hopefully I can finish this year with pretty decent grades. My first semester I had a 3.0 but I do not think I will have that high of a GPA for this semester.
The summer is going to last all the way until September. I am going to have over four months worth of summer vacation. This is going to be the best summer of my life. I cannot wait until this last week of school is over. The best feeling is finishing the last day of school for the summer.

castaway

Right now I am watching the movie Castaway starring Tom Hanks. The movie is about a man who worked for a shipping company. He was on a plane for work when it crashed over the ocean. He ends up stranded on an island all by himself. The movie is pretty sweet. If I were to end up stranded on an island, I would hope that some hot chick would be stranded with me. It would suck to be on an island all by yourself. I'm sure a person would get depressed living all by themself on an island.

tigers and pistons

The Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Pistons both had games today. The Pistons were playing the Cleveland Cavailiers. Their star player is Lebron James. The game came all the way down to the last couple minutes and the Pistons pulled through and won. Right now the Pistons are the first place team from the Eastern Conference. The Tigers also had a game today. They played the Kansas City Royals. I started watching the game in the 9th inning. The Tigers were down 2-0 at this point. The Tigers got two men on base and Pudge Rodriguez cranked a home run to go up 3-2. The game ended with that score and the Tigers are now 3-2 on the season. Today was a good day for Detroit sports.

My thesis statement for the last paper is as follows. Since Trenton could not pass a bond recently, their schools have been affected greatly. Basically I want to talk about how the city of Trenton was affected due to a bond failing to pass. I'm still working on my thesis and might not use the one given in this paragraph. 3 more weeks of school

There are only 3 weeks left of my first year of college. This year went by pretty fast. Now there are only 3 more weeks left until I get over 3 months off. This will be my longest summer vacation since in highschool I didn't finish the school year until the middle of June. I plan on working right when I get out of school. I want to make a lot of money this summer so I can enjoy it the best way possible.

first blog for final paper

I will be doing my final paper on the closing of Owen Elementary School. I chose to do my photo essay on this topic as well. The closing of Owen was a recent event and it greatly affected my community. It was closed due to a failed attempt to pass a bond for Trenton schools. Students were forced to switch to one of the other elementary schools. This caused more students to be attending each school. Here is a website telling more about the closing of the school.

The bond, which was failed to pass, also affected the high school in Trenton. The bond was for 2 new elementary schools and technology upgrades. Because the bond did not pass, Trenton schools did not get an upgrade in technology. The schools are forced to use out of date technology which affects education greatly.
